Spiritual excellence for curious minds
Here we have a delicious collaboration between two Oxford establishments, the Ashmolean Museum (the University of Oxford's Museum of Art and Archaeology - founded in 1683) and The Oxford Artisan Distillery (TOAD).
Inspired by the Museum's collections from around the world, combining 17 botanicals including Jara lemon, rose, jasmine, and spices from the Middle East and Asia. The bottle illustration shows Spray of 'Morning Glory', by Takeuchi Seiho, which you can find in the museum's Eastern Art Collection!

The Oxford Artisan Distillery (TOAD, to those in the know), this ancient city’s first distillery – and one of the world’s very few true craft distilleries. We cultivate, craft, create and curate the very finest spirits using sustainably grown ancient grains.
The rare and distinctive subtleties in our spirits are a direct result of our dedication to selecting genetically diverse populations of rye, wheat and barley grown on local farms.
Our beautiful riveted copper stills were built in conjunction with Paul Pridham, England’s last great steam engine boiler-maker. Taking inspiration from Jules Verne, we designed our 2,200 litre central still, Nautilus, as well as its 500-litre partner, Nemo – allowing us all the flexibility we need to experiment and refine.
Spiritual excellence for curious minds is a philosophy that drives everything we do at TOAD. It’s what led us to focus on craft and ancient grains and take what we learned and apply them across a range of spirits including gin, vodka, absinthe, rye spirit and rye whisky.
