Tasting Notes
Colour
Very dark red
Nose
This wine is packed with intense blackberry and plum fruit on the nose.
Palate
Hints of spice due to ageing in French oak. It is well balanced, well structured and has a lingering finish.
Vineyard
Hacienda Zorita Natural Reserve Syrah is made from selected grapes grown on a 72 ha. Vineyard in the Natural Park of Arribes del Duero, the Unamuno Vineyard. Here, we work with the latest viticulture techniques including the Smart-Dyson vine training method, allowing for better and more complete ripening of the grapes. We grow international varieties (Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) as well as Spain's indigenous Tempranillo.
Production Method
Made from handpicked and selected grapes from our own vineyard, classified as excellent for growing Syrah by Dr. Richard Smart. Aged for 15 months in French and American oak barrels.
A limited-production wine with only 22,000 bottles made per year. Slow fermentation to achieve maximum fruit extraction, followed by 24 months in new French oak barrels before bottling.
