Selected entirely from vines cultivated in the clay-limestone soils of the Valdepusa Domain (Malpica del Tajo, Toledo), property of the Marqués de Griñón family since 1292. This wine is produced from a pioneer vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon in Castilla-La Mancha, planted in the early 1970s, which was also the world’s first drip-irrigated commercial vineyard.
This Cabernet Sauvignon bursts from the glass with aromas of black cherries, wild berry fruits and sweet spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate and tobacco.
It is expansive on the palate: full-bodied, well-structured with fine, integrated tannins, and outstanding depth.
The grapes for this very special wine have been selected almost on a vine per vine basis, with the aim to preserve all of the character and personality that our single estate terroir has to offer. This wine is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon that fermented separately parcel by parcel in stainless steel tanks.
Prolonged maceration up to 4 or 5 weeks and ageing in new barrels of new French Allier oak, for 12 -15 months, in a heated ageing shed.
