Zinfandel is a typically Californian vintage to have originated in Italy, more specifically in the Apulia region of Southern Italy. It is believed to have been brought to California by emigrants from Southern Italy.
Tasting Notes
Colour
Attractive ruby-red with crimson tinges.
Nose
Coffee, blackberries, red berries and grilled aromas dominate.
Palate
Mellow to start with, round and delicate tannins, with a warm and very lingering finish carrying a coffee-like note throughout. Overall it is rich, bold & robust.
Production
The wine is made according to a traditional process that takes into account the grapes' character. This requires excellent quality grapes and the vineyard's
total dedication to this process. Following malolactic fermentation, the wines are rapidly clarified and preserved at low temperatures beneath inert gas.
Soils
They vary widely across the production area and include sandy soils, clay-and-limestone soils and stony soils.
