Tasting Notes
Colour
In the glass, this wine shines in a bright golden yellow with glittering reflections.
Nose
It has fruity aromas of citrus blossom, ripe peach and just a hint of minerality.
Palate
On the palate, the flavors of white nectarine and peach mix and give this wine its fresh taste - simply delicious. The freshness harmonises wonderfully with the well integrated acidity and the full-bodied texture.
Producer
The unoaked Viognier from Gnarly Head from the North American wine-growing region of California is a pure grape variety, refreshing and full-bodied white wine.
The grapes for this American white wine grow in the vineyards of Lodi.
After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the Gnarly Head cellar. There the grapes are destemmed, gently pressed and filled into stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation. This white wine is not matured in wood.
Alan's Tasting Notes
"Just Wow!! The clue is in the label - unoaked - so no oak used in fermentation or maturation - which lets the fruit shine through in all its majesty - pure peach and nectarine - enhanced by refreshing acidity and a touch of minerality. Pure quality at a reasonably affordable price point for California - love it - and so will our customers - they just have to try it and it’ll hook all in its path." Tasted July 2022
