2020 Ukraine Villa Tinta Odesa Black
Regular price £12.99 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%Ukrainian Odesa Black - the wine that can be found only in the Black Sea region, is the most common for this variety!
Tasting Notes
The color is from red to dark red with a ruby tint. The wine reveals the aromas of spices, plum jam, red pepper, leather notes. The taste is complex, velvety, full and silky with pleasant tannins in the aftertaste.

History
Vine-growing and wine-making farm “Vynhol Oksamytne” was founded in 1998 in the village of Velvet of the Bolhrad district of the Odesa region on the territory where Count Davydov’s vineyard chateau was located 120 years ago.
For more than 15 years, our winery produced wines familiar to many consumers, bottled under the brands of other well-known brands. Since 2017, the company has decided to enter the Ukrainian market with its own brands.
This is how Villa Tinta® – a collection of dry ordinary wines from local and European grape varieties, Tintarella® – sparkling wines made using Sharma technology and Tinta® – semi-sweet blended wines appear. In 2018, our company, together with the winemakers of the Yalpug valley, participated in the creation of one of the first PDO Yalpug geographical indications in Ukraine for wines from the Odessa Black and Sukholimansky varieties and the PGI of the same name for wine from European grape varieties.
Terroir
Our wine is for the inquisitive, for seekers, for those who want to discover a new taste and aroma for themselves, feel the sunny warmth of the south and the unique wine-growing area of Lake Yalpug (located in Danube Bessarabia). Because all power is always in the search. We believe that the quality of the grapes largely determines the difference of the wine in the bottle. Working in the vineyards every day in the rhythm of the seasons: from pruning the vines to harvesting the grapes, we strive to reveal the full potential of the Yalpug Lake Valley terroir, combining the age-old winemaking traditions of our region and modern technologies, constantly improving the production process of our wines.
Today, our company owns its own 550 hectares of vineyards and has partnerships with many local winegrowers, processing grapes from more than 600 hectares of vineyards. Selecting the most adapted to the conditions of our microclimate, we gathered a large collection of European and local grape varieties, becoming one of the largest producers of grapes and wines from Muscat, Odesa Black and Cabernet Sauvignon in Ukraine.
A large number of sunny days, loamy soils, control of the load on the vine, manual harvesting of grapes, minimum delivery time “from the bush to the press” create a quality wine of guaranteed origin.

Brut Rose Chateau Chizay
Regular price £18.99 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%This sparkling wine boasts a delicate powdery colour with lively and persistent bubbles.
Tasting Notes
The aroma is subtle, complementing the colour, with hints of seasonal flowers such as peonies and roses.
The taste is fresh and soft, not overly strict as a brut. In the aftertaste, the essence of red flowers blossoms once again.

History
The Chateau Chizay is a true country estate surrounded by vineyards. It was this French concept and its aesthetics that inspired us when creating Chateau Chizay, located near the ancient town of Berehove.
Transcarpathia is a historical wine region. The slopes of the volcanic Carpathian Mountains, plenty of sunlight, and sufficient water have fostered winemaking in these lands since ancient times. Zakarpattia (Transcarpathian) wines were supplied to the courts of medieval kings and nobles, and even to the presidents of modern states.
The culture of Transcarpathian winemaking is unique because it has combined Hungarian, Italian, and Austrian traditions throughout historical vicissitudes. It was this cultural fusion that yielded such an interesting and colorful product – Transcarpathian wine.
And at Chateau Chizay, we make it exclusively from our own Zakarpattia grapes. 272 hectares of vineyards in perfect Zakarpattia terroirs. Masters who respect local traditions and have learned the modern winemaking techniques in Europe. Inspiration from history, energy for the future. All of this is added to the bouquet of our wines.
Chateau Chizay winery complex was founded in 1995 in the Chizay tract near the town of Berehove in Zakarpattia. We built a modern production facility from scratch, but with attention to the local winemaking history. Our principles are hard work and honesty, respect for nature, and love for what we do.
Making simply quality wines is interesting, but we want more. We’re not satisfied with just being the best. It has to be unique. We are creating a new history of winemaking in Zakarpattia and Europe, and today Chateau Chizay is not just a winery, but a winemaking town, a center of noble craftsmanship, and a handmade wonder of Zakarpattia.
Yes, we make wine. But – more than wine. We create emotions. And – a new glory of Zakarpattia Wine. This is the philosophy of Chateau Chizay. We know and love! Welcome to our world!
