2018 Luigi Bosca Terroir Range Single Vineyard Malbec
Regular price £18.99 Save £-18.99One of the first Argentine wines with a Designation of Origin. 2018 was a small but fantastic harvest, with wines showing great balance.
A deep and bright red-violet wine with balanced aromas and red fruit and spice notes.
It is refreshing and voluptuous in the mouth, with fine and gentle tannins, while it is clean and expressive in the palate, with a strong character, typicity and a deep finish with soft smoked hues as a result of its ageing in oak barrels. It is a great exponent of the variety and the terroir, with good ageing potential.
The grapes are hand-picked, clusters are selected, then they are destemmed and after that, the best grains are chosen. The must is macerated in cold for 3 to 5 days at a temperature from 10°C to 15°C. Then it is fermented with selected yeast in small stainless steel tanks, with extraction works such as delestage and pressings. Once fermentation is finished, the wine is aged in new French oak barrels in which malolactic conversion takes place and it is matured for 12 to 14 months. Once the ageing is finished, the wine is stabilized, filtered and bottled. It is stored in the winery for at least 6 months before market release.
Continental climate, with a wide range of temperature between day and night, and well-defined seasons which contribute to a good growth of the vines. The altitude and its microclimate are ideal for the grapes since they provide a unique character. Many hours of good sunlight
Luigi Bosca is the pioneer winery in elaborating a Malbec under the Denomination of Origin Luján de Cuyo. This is the reason why it is a wine that seeks the ultimate expression of the terroir by harvesting its grape in its right level of ripeness and looking after every detail of the making. The climate during the 2016 harvest was cool to cold throughout the plant’s growth and the grapes’ ripeness cycle. For that reason, fresh aromas of red fruits such as plums, floral and spicy notes can be perceived in Luigi Bosca · Malbec D.O.C. 2016. It is fresh and lively in the mouth, with sweet tannins and a persistent finish.

Regular price £15.00 Save £-15.00A genuine terroir wine.
A bright and not so deep ruby red wine
Delicate aromas, red fruit and spice notes.
Lively and balanced in the mouth, fine-textured, straightforward and fresh in the palate. Complex character and long finish during which the perfectly integrated toasts resulting from the ageing in French oak barrels can be perceived. It is a varietal exponent of great personality and ageing potential.
The grapes are hand-picked in boxes from 18 to 20 kilograms, clusters are selected, then they are destemmed, and after that the best grains are chosen. The must is macerated in cold for 3 to 5 days at a temperature of 15°C. Afterwards, 50% of must is fermented with selected yeasts in stainless steel tanks, with continuous pillage for a smooth removal. The remaining must is fermented in 600 and 900 liter-French oak barrels that are placed on a roller system in order to achieve a manual remounting effect. Once fermentation is finished, part of the wine is aged in second use oak barrels (previously used for Chardonnay) in which malolactic conversion takes place. Once the ageing process is finished, it is blended with the part that has been kept in stainless steel tanks. Then it is stabilized, filtered and the final blend is bottled. It is stored in the winery for at least a year before market release.
