Santa Tresa Il Frappato Spumante Rosé Organic Brut
Regular price £13.79 Save £-13.79A delicate salmon pink, Il Frappato Spumante Rosé has a fine and consistent perlage.
Elegant, with fresh fruity notes on the bouquet, reminiscent of wild strawberries, raspberries and pomegranates.
On the palate, the wine is delicate and harmonious, with lovely fresh fruit flavours, citrussy notes and a pleasant acidity.
The Frappato grapes are hand-picked during the first few days of September once the grapes have reached the perfect balance of sugars and acidity needed for making a good spumante. The grapes are put into small containers and are refrigerated for around 48 hours to reduce the temperature to about 8-10°C.
After very careful destemming, the grapes are put into a pneumatic press, where they stay for around 2 hours and are very, very gently pressed at 0.2 bar. The must is chilled to facilitate natural sedimentation. The alcoholic fermentation occurs at 18-20°C for around 8-10 days and the base wine is then kept refrigerated.
The secondary fermentation for Frappato Brut takes place in small autoclaves at a temperature not exceeding 14°C. The special yeast strains added to initiate the second fermentation work very slowly at this low temperature, helping to retain the freshness and typical characteristics of the Frappato.

Fresita Original Sparkling Wine with Strawberries
Regular price £9.49 Save £-9.49The unique combination of the best sparkling wine with carefully selected strawberries, created through the Charmat method to deliver a natural, balanced and elegant taste.
Originating from Chile, Fresita features a distinct combination of the highest standard of sparkling wine and carefully chosen strawberries. Created using the Charmat method of winemaking, it delivers a balanced, elegant, refreshing, and natural taste, aroma, and flavour.
The term “Fresita” is of Spanish origin and means “strawberry.” Initially, when the fruit got discovered in Patagonia of Chile, people knew of its white variants. Later, Amédée-François Frézier presented them to the world in 1714. Eventually, the strawberries of red colour evolved, and now, very few knew that the white ones also existed. In recent times, however, both the Chilean strawberries get celebrated for their delicious fragrance, sweet taste, and size.
The creation of Fresita in 1992 was due to the motivation to deliver a unique beverage that appeals to people’s desire for a genuine experience. The wine has a blend combination of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Moscatel.
Each varietal gets fermented in separate chambers to create their unique still wines first. Then, they get blended, followed by a second fermentation process. This dual treatment helps attain an exceedingly dry base for the sparkling wine of Fresita.
At the final stage of the winemaking, freshly picked and intensely flavoured strawberries of the Patagonian variety get added to the product. It results in the deep, fruity, luscious, and smooth salmon pink colour of Fresita with strawberry pulp suspended or floating in it.
Fresita contains persistent bubbles and solely 8% alcohol, making it a drink that people with low alcoholic tolerance can enjoy. It offers a beverage that is full of the sweetness of strawberry with the appropriate amount of intensity. The sparkling wine provides a refreshing feel, especially when served and drunk chilled.

2020 Kalkstein Pinot Noir Rosé
Regular price £9.99 Save £-9.99Hints of forest fruit flavours, subtile citrus aromas on the nose which continue onto the palate. Dry to taste, this rosé is lively, well balanced and mineral on the palate with a crisp finish.
“Pinot Noir can be quite a temperamental grape but thrives on limestone soils in cool climates. This Pinot Noir Rosé vom Kalkstein is the palest of pale pinks reflecting the brief period of skin contact with the red Pinot Noir grapes to extract this delicate colour. There are hints of raspberry, watermelon and pomegranate on the nose which continue onto the palate. Dry to taste, this rosé is elegant, bright and racy on the palate with a crisp finish. Its fruitiness comes best to the fore by not chilling too much.’’
Alison Flemming MW
This wine is produced by the classic rosé method. The grapes are picked in the early hours of the morning when temperatures are cool. The grapes are pressed very gently for about three hours with skin contact to give a delicate tinge of pink. Winemaking is reductive at around 16 degrees C for c. 3 weeks with specially selected yeasts to enhance the fresh and fruity flavours. The wine then spends several months on the fine lees to gain weight and complexity before being bottled.
This wine comes from the Pfalz, one of Germany's key wine-producing regions, situated in the southwest, across the border from Alsace. The weather here is generally dry and sunny as the Pfalz wine region lies in the rain shadow of the mountains. The vineyards for this rosé are located in the north of the Pfalz and are in a valley basin, making it a cool area because of the fog and thermal currents. This cool climate, together with the limestone soils, makes for lean, long-lived wines.

2020 Domaine Saint Paul Grenache Gris Rosé
Regular price £8.99 Save £-8.99This certified Organic & Vegan-Friendly rosé is possibly the prettiest pink we have!
Pale salmon pink color
It's delicate peachy colour reflects the exotic stone fruit and orange blossom on the nose
On the palate the wine has a softness and texture that some rosés lack, yet it retains a freshness to the finish. This wine fits perfectly into the centre ground between the more common summer fruit dominated rosés and the more textured white of the south of France.
Direct pressing in a pneumatic press, settling after 48 hours at 8°C, alcoholic fermentation after yeasting at 14°C. Racking of wines and sulphating. No malolactic fermentation.
Domaine Saint-Paul is a fabulous organic estate, located close to Béziers in the commune of Colombiers in the heart of the Languedoc. Their focus is on traditional southern French grape varieties, with a huge amount of emphasis on work carried out in the vineyard to ensure the quality of grapes harvested is absolutely first class.
This hard work has resulted in a trio of exceptional wines.
Made predominantly from Grenache 'Gris' grapes that turn a pale pinky-grey colour when they ripen, this rosé is possibly the most attractive shade of pink of any we stock. Certified organic and vegan friendly.
The soil is mainly made up of limestone marl. There are traces of ancient fossilized mussels and oysters. These light soils allow a deep rooting of the vines which promotes the development and balance of the wines.

English rose in colour
With a seductive strawberry liquorice nose, this wine reveals rich fruit characters in the mouth.
Pressed slowly and gently to draw out the distinctive colours and flavours. The result is a delicate, dry Rosé with a balanced floral character and complex notes of white peach and red berries.
Exton Park is a Hampshire sparkling wine producer with a 60-acre single vineyard planted on a south-facing slope in the South Downs National Park. Their first vines were planted in 2003, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier and their state-of-the-art winery was built in 2011. A luxurious, private event space overlooking the vineyard is also under construction and will be opening later this year. With a 60-acre single vineyard, a bespoke winery and a breath-taking promotional facility all on one estate, Exton Park will be able to offer guests an unrivalled English wine experience.
2021 marks the release of their Reserve Blend range. These are traditional method sparkling wines that challenge classic winemaking conventions. They do not rely on a base vintage like other English sparkling wine producers. Over 80% of each blend is composed from their extensive archive or reserve wines.
The number of reserves in each blend is reflected in the name of each wine. For example, Exton Park RB28 Blanc de Noirs is created from a blend of 28 wines. This unique approach has been pioneered by Head Winemaker Corinne Seeling to ensure consistency, quality and complexity with each bottling.

2020 Mirabello Pinot Grigio Rosé, IGT Provincia di Pavia
Regular price £6.95 Save £-6.95A fresh and appealing style of Pinot Grigio rosé from the Pavia zone of north-west Italy. The addition of early-harvested Pinot Noir grapes and gentle pressing give a delicate salmon pink colour and subtle red berry fruit.
Pale coral pink - strawberry and bramble aromas lead onto a delicate, yet juicy palate with red berry characters. Slight creaminess leads to a crisp dry finish.
Produced from grapes grown in the Pavia region of northwest Italy. The ripest grapes were selected from mature hillside vineyards and hand-harvested in early September. The extra ripeness allows the dark-skinned Pinot Grigio grapes to develop a pink tinge which is further enhanced by the addition of a small proportion of Barbera and Pinot Noir grapes from the same vineyards. The grapes were harvested at optimum ripeness together, and the skins left in contact with the juice for 12 hours at low temperature before gentle pressing. After a slow, cool fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks the wine was bottled young to preserve freshness and aromas.

"An enticing summer red with lots of upfront strawberry fruit together with more serious red berry notes from the Barbera and Pinot Nero components. Appealing freshness and acidity initially are tempered by a balancing creaminess in the mid and back palate. Henners Brut Rose N/V
Regular price £32.95 Save £-32.95Elegant and beautifully crafted rosé from this highly regarded English sparkling wine producer.
Henners Rosé NV is made from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, using the saignée method to draw colour from the grapes at the pressing stage.
This sparkling rosé delivers classic English red berry fruit flavours including raspberries, redcurrants and rhubarb. A minimum of 18 month ageing on the lees brings a delicate creaminess to the wine.
When it comes to English wine there’s a lot to shout about, not least the stunning sparkling wines from Henners. Based just 4 miles from the sea in Herstmonceux, East Sussex, the 7 acre vineyard was created in 2007 by ex-Formula One engineer, Lawrence Warr. The winery was named in honour of Larry's French ancestor, Henners Dubois, who was forced to flee Paris for England during the French Revolution in the in the late 18th Century.
Boutinot was the sole distributor of Henners from this time and developed strong ties with the winery and its wines… so when the opportunity arose 10 years later to buy the estate, they jumped at the chance. Planted with traditional Champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the vines thrive in an idyllic microclimate created by the vineyard’s proximity to the sea, low altitude (only 24 metres above sea level) and steep, sunny, south facing slopes.
All Henners wines are hand-crafted from start to finish; with separate fermenting of varietals and their vine clones to allow a broader range of wines for final blending; extended lees ageing for added complexity; and holding back of all bottles for at least 3 years prior to release to add depth and richness to every wine. Hand-crafted with every attention to detail, our winemakers create award winning wines of depth, complexity and elegance that are perfect for any occasion.
Henners Rosé is produced solely from grapes grown on our outstanding estate in Herstmonceux, East Sussex. We found the unique combination of warm well drained sandstone soils, a southerly aspect slope coupled with low altitude, three miles from the sea and at just 24m above sea level. Harvest usually takes place in late September. The result is perhaps the finest vineyard microclimate in the country. We take a non-interventionist approach in the winery, made possible by the quality of the fruit. Vine clones and varieties are fermented separately to allow a broad palette of wines for final blending. This wine will have spent a minimum of 18 months on lees at time of release, and a minimum of 5 months in cellar post-disgorgement to create a deliberately vibrant and fresh sparkling Rosé. Dosage of 7.5g/l.
Already a founder member of WineGB’s Sustainability Programme Henners Vineyard can now announce it is one of just 18 accredited members to have been certified as sustainable by Wine GB. This is an endorsement to Henners’ commitment to winemaking and winery management that have minimal environmental impact, as well as the ongoing promotion of biodiversity in the vineyards and protection of soils. This is no easy task to attain, requiring annual review for accreditation and ongoing improvement in methodology.

2019 Borgia by Borsao Rosado
Regular price £6.50 Save £-6.50Classic Spanish rosado - easy drinking with strawberry notes and fresh acidity. Campo de Borja is often referred to as the 'Kingdom of Garnacha', where this variety reigns supreme.
Deep coral pink colour with aromas of ripe berry fruit and strawberry.
Dry, approachable and well-balanced, with more appealing juicy strawberry fruit and a creamy mouthfeel.
100% Garnacha grapes grown on alluvial soils in the foothills of the Moncayo mountain. The grapes undergo 6 hours cold maceration for the must to achieve a delicate colour; followed by slow temperature-controlled fermentation at 17ºC in stainless steel tanks.
The winery was established as a co-operative in 1959. In 2001 it joined with two other progressive, co-operative, cellars in the Campo de Borja region to become the Bodegas Borsao that we know today.
Grapes are sourced from over 375 member growers covering 2,400 hectares - nearly a third of the region's total. Vineyards lie in the undulating foothills of the Moncayo mountain, ranging from around 350m to 800m above sea level. At lower altitudes, vines are younger and may require some irrigation, but higher up the slopes the vines are older, unirrigated bush vines.
The climate is rather severe and arid, with hot dry days, and cool nights - which allow optimum acidity levels to be maintained within the grapes. Garnacha thrives in these conditions and represents 65% of total production. The Cierzo wind from the Moncayo sweeps across the foothills of the mountain. This cold, dry wind reduces humidity levels and allows grapes to be picked a couple of weeks later in the harvest, at full maturity.
Borsao has access to a large number of vineyard plots at different altitudes, and hence to a wide selection of fantastic quality grapes. They are recognised for their entry-level varietals - as outstanding examples of easy-to-drink inexpensive wines - as they are for their premium wines, in particular the iconic, multi-award-winning Tres Picos.
With 2,400 hectares of vineyards, Bodegas Borsao is a substantially sized operation in a warm, dry region and as a result the availability and usage of water is a major issue. Much of its vineyard area is planted with Garnacha which traditionally has been bush trained. Until recently, newer plantings were wire trained for easier harvesting, but because of the greater exposure to sunlight of this training method the vines can require up to 50% more water. As a result, all new plantings have reverted to the traditional style of bush training to preserve water.
Inter-row plantings are used to improve the water-holding capacity of the soil and protect it from erosion; they contribute to a better soil structure, increasing its organic, nutrient and nitrogen content; they improve biodiversity in the vineyard since organic matter is a food source for several macro- and micro-organisms; they often increase the population of earthworms which are good indicators of soil fertility; they improve fauna above the soil, providing habitat and food for beneficial insects; they regulate vine growth, helping to control the yield and quality of grapes and wine; and they reduce the vegetative vigour of vines and thus their susceptibility to grey mould and downy mildew. These cover crops mean that less spraying and tending of the vines is required, thus fewer passes are made by tractors which reduces the compaction of the soil and the consumption of diesel. Pheromone treatments are also employed to sexually confuse predatory insects, reducing their populations significantly.
The new cellar is well insulated to reduce the need for cooling systems and to minimise energy consumption; all the chambers are equipped with automatic LED lighting; all of the bottling lines have been designed to reduce noise and to minimise the need to move dry goods and floor stock items; all hot water installations are solar-powered; the greater part of the electricity used for illumination is produced by solar panels; and every single drop of rainwater from the vast roof is collected and recycled. Planned new offices will also be equipped with solar panels and other energy-saving mechanisms.

2020 Borsao Selección Rosado
Regular price £8.00 Save £-8.00Grapes for Borsao's Selección range are sourced from the higher vineyard slopes of the Moncayo mountains, where soils have more sand and the grapes have greater complexity.
A delightfully pale Garnacha rosé with intense aromas of bright red fruits, raspberries and strawberries.
The palate has ripe red berry and cherry fruit characters, balancing acidity, and an appealing red fruit finish.
Selected Garnacha grapes from 15-30 year old bush vines grown on stony, sandy soils, around 450 metres above sea level. 6-8 hours cold maceration on skins followed by gentle pressing. The free run juice undergoes long, cool fermentation of between 14º-18º C in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
The winery was established as a co-operative in 1959. In 2001 it joined with two other progressive, co-operative, cellars in the Campo de Borja region to become the Bodegas Borsao that we know today.

Lunetta Prosecco Rosé N/V
Regular price £3.79 Save £-3.79A beautifully fresh and dry sparkling rosé from the foothills of the Trentino mountains - now in a handy 'single-serve' size too!
A fresh and dry sparkling rosé with persistent mousse, beautifully salmon pink in colour. Red berry characters on the nose and palate leading to a fresh, delicate and incisive finish.
The grapes are sourced from the hills of the Adige and Vallagarina valleys in Trentino. Grapes were hand-harvested at the start of September. Chardonnay grapes were soft pressed to yield the best portion of must - after decanting for 10-12 hours this goes into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. The red grapes are harvested early to maintain good acidity levels and are vinified as for rosé wines. After stabilisation and clarification, the wine undergoes a second fermentation (Charmat method).
Cavit is a leading co-operative in the mountainous Trentino region of northeast Italy. The winery began as a consortium of associated grape growers in 1950, with a dedicated winery at Ravina di Trento built in 1964. Today It unites 11 separate cellars and their combined 4,500 grape growers across 7,000 hectares of vineyard, to produce an impressively broad portfolio from an intriguing palette of indigenous and international grape varieties. Trentino has a much higher proportion of wines produced as DOC than any other region in Italy - an average of 80% of the region's wines have a DOC classification, compared to around 30% elsewhere in the country. Remarkably, Cavit accounts for 60% of this region's wine production and they advise and supervise all aspects of this production from the vineyard to the bottle. Their site at Maso Toresella on the shores of Lake Toblino was the historic residence of the Prince Bishops of Trento, surrounded by 6.5 hectares of vineyard. It is one of the most significant 'masi' (rural estates) in the whole of Trentino. They have worked with the San Michele all’Adige Oenological Institute, since 1988, to develop wines of the highest quality. In 1993 Cantina Altemasi was established, also at Ravina, not far from the region's capital of Trento - for the production and maturation of Classic Trentodoc and Charmat Method sparkling wines. Trento Doc was the first Classical Method sparkling wine DOC to be established anywhere in the world after Champagne, and the first in Italy.
For more than two decades Cavit has adhered to the “Protocol for the Production of High-Quality Wines in Trentino”, marking its commitment to fully sustainable agriculture. It is also a member of SEDEX and is working towards SNQPI (Sistema di Qualità Nazionale Produzione Integrata) certification for its commitment to sustainable agriculture. In addition to using only green energy, Cavit has made major investments aimed at reducing energy consumption. Specifically, it has built three photovoltaic generators that produce part of its energy requirements from renewable sources (more than 800 Megawatts per year), significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
PICA (Integrated Agricultural and Wine-producing Cartographic Platform), is the result of a five-year research project conducted by Cavit in collaboration with MPA Solutions and leading research centers in Trentino: the Edmund Mach Foundation (FEM) and the Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK).
The PICA platform is a complex system, but it works in a simple way. By networking the 4,500 vine growers of the 11 Cavit wine producers’ co-operatives it collects information and gives advice. The main purpose of this platform is to help the grower to achieve total sustainability. The project comprises of two main areas.
The first defines the choice of the most suitable grape varieties, on the basis of the technical and environmental parameters of the soil; the second involves the creation of an avant-garde system with which agronomists and winemakers can receive specific information concerning each vineyard and the various phases in the cultivation of the vines. In practice, waste is eliminated and the grower has total control. For example, it is possible to regulate the water supply according to the characteristics of the soil and the weather conditions.

2020 Domaine de la Vieille Tour Rosé
Regular price £12.00 Save £-12.00A perfect pale pink that screams Provence!
This is a perfect, pale, raspberry-pink wine that is very drinkable. Delicate aromas are followed by lovely sweet fruit from Grenache grapes. Clean and well balanced with good depth.
The Domaine's vineyards are situated in the best area of the AC Côtes de Provence with a very particular micro-climate and sandstone clay soils. A classic blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, the grapes are picked by hand. This is a rosé de presse produced in an ultra-modern gravity-fed winery.
Domaine de la Vieille Tour is a 22-hectare estate in the Côtes de Provence, situated between Pierrefeu and Cuers and not far from Château Gairoird. The Domaine's vineyards benefit from lying in a slight geographical depression which has a particular microclimate, encouraging the long and even ripening of the grapes. Grapes for the rosé, Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, are cultivated on sandstone clay soils and harvested by hand, before being transported to a very modern, gravity-fed winery.
As a négociant, Gilardi is very keen to minimize its own environmental impact and to work with sustainably-minded growers. For example, on its bottling line, Gilardi has switched from a traditional sediment filtration system to a more efficient cross-flow filtration system and chooses eco-friendly dry goods such as Normacorc’s carbon neutral "Select Green" corks which are made from plant-based polymers from renewable resources and which are recyclable. Gilardi is expanding its collaboration with HVE Level 3 certified winemakers and currently, two of the wines it offers are organic.

2021 Adobe Reserva Organic Rosé
Regular price £8.69 Save £-8.69Chile does Provence minus the £££'s!
Refreshing and delicious predominantly from Emiliana's organic vineyards in Colchagua and Cachoploal valleys.
A lovely pale and delicate rosé.
Pale almost Provencal-pink in colour.
Gentle strawberry and red cherry aromas.
The palate is medium in weight with fresh summer fruits and a silky yet refreshing finish. Delicate and easy to drink.
The Rapel Valley lies with the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Andes Mountains to the east, and the province of Curicó to the south. This area is particularly well suited for growing Carmenère, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a transversal valley of Chile’s central zone with unique climatic conditions, including four clearly defined seasons and a unique blend of maritime breezes and Andean winds. The hand-picked grapes were transported to the winery and selected from a conveyor belt to ensure maximum quality. Vinification took place in stainless steel tanks for 3 months with selected yeasts. The finished wine was fined using bentonite and cold stabilized to prevent the formation of tartrate crystals and 1 and 0.45 micron cartridge filters were used at the time of bottling.
Voted by Wines of Chile as "Winery of the Year 2016", Emiliana is one of Chile's most exciting producers and pioneers in organic and biodynamic winemaking. 2021 Waterkloof 'Circumstance Cape Coral Mouvèdre Rosé'
Regular price £12.00 Save £-12.00Mourvedre is perfect for Waterkloof, with its head in the sun and feet in the sea. So, not one to follow fashion, Paul Boutinot has made it the most planted red grape on this biodynamic farm. Cape Coral Rosé has vindicated that decision, promptly proving itself to be one of the finest rosés in The Southern Hemisphere, if not The World. Pale in colour and discreet of fragrance, yet with a palate weight and texture that makes it a decidedly gastronomic rosé.
Pale salmon colour
Delicate aromas of peach, spice and herbs are prominent on the nose.
A fresh, yet broadly textured mouthfeel with a long, savoury and deeply satisfying finish. This rather grown-up wine makes a wonderful partner to almost any dish you care to prepare.
'Rooibos! Distinct terroir character here – whether it’s fynbos or tea or whatever, it certainly seems to reflect its home. Excellent softness and complexity. As valid a fine wine as many reds or whites – really shows what great rosé can do. Finishes with a long, mealy length.' – Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20
'A delightfully pale coloured Rosé. Delicate red berry aromas combined with a flinty note are prominent on the nose. The palate is soft with a lingering fresh acidity on the aftertaste. Traditionally the wine is served chilled on its own, but also marries well with spicy, tuna-based sushi.' – Nadia Barnard
The Wine Merchant Top 100 2016 - 2015 Vintage
Living soils and a natural approach to winemaking means that each of the single-varietal wines in the Circumstance range is truly defined by the circumstances influencing the chosen varietal and vineyard blocks, including soil, aspect, altitude and vintage. The Mourvedre vines are dry-farmed, windswept and low-yielding. Production is a minuscule (for rosé) 5 tons per hectare. Grapes were hand-harvested followed by a gentle whole-bunch pressing in a horizontal basket press, to extract only the finest juice. No further maceration of the juice with the skins was allowed. The juice was run down via gravity into tank and left to settle naturally for 12 hours. From there the clean juice was racked off to wooden fermenters to start the natural fermentation spontaneously, relying on wild yeasts that occur naturally in the vineyard. The reason why Waterkloof ferment in older wooden fermenters is to ensure a slow ingress of oxygen throughout the process and therefore a longer fermentation without picking-up any oak aromas. The wine was then left on the primary lees to add further complexity before bottling. The wine then spent a minimum of six months on lees. No fining, just a light filtration. The only addition was a small amount of sulphur before bottling.
Founded by Paul Boutinot in 2004, Waterkloof is a family-owned, organic, biodynamic and WWF Biodiversity Champion farm perched high up on the windswept Schapenberg, overlooking False Bay and The Atlantic Ocean. Living soils, naturally low yields and a long growing season help provide talented young Cellarmaster Nadia Barnard with naturally balanced grapes that are imbued with a truly defining sense of origin. Those grapes are then transformed into wine with a minimum of intervention. The resulting wines are fine, inimitable and best enjoyed with food.
As well as being ECOCERT certified as organic, and working biodynamically, Waterkloof goes much further than many in its efforts to be a highly sustainable winery. To learn more please visit their website.

2018 Marques de la Concordia 'Rioja Santiago' Rosé
Regular price £8.99 Save £-8.99Cherry pink in colour
Aromas of red fruit on the nose especially strawberry.
On the palate this wine is light, fruity and refreshing. Well balanced with a touch of acidity creating a lingering finish.
The must spends a short amount of time in contact with the skins, to extract some colour from the red grapes. Careful maceration to ensure freshness of aroma. Fermentation takes place without the presence of lees under controlled temperatures of no more than 20°C in stainless steel vats for 10 to 12 days.
Bodegas Rioja Santiago hosts and serves wine to millions of pilgrims as they pass through Rioja, on their final stage to Santiago de Compostela.
Founded in 1870 in Haro, on the banks of the River Tiron, Bodega Rioja Santiago is the fourth oldest winery in La Rioja. One of only five wineries permitted to use the word ‘Rioja’ on the label.
Nowadays Rioja Santiago is a modern winery, but the philosophy that surrounded the wines for more than 100 years has not changed: producing the highest quality Rioja wines.

N/V Marques de la Concordia Tapas Tempranillo Rosé
Regular price £6.99 Save £-6.99Cherry colour, red fruits on the nose, especially raspberry. On the palate, it is crisp, refreshing and well balanced.
Saignée is applied to the red grapes. Careful maceration ensures aromatic freshness. Fermentation takes place without the presence of lees under controlled temperatures of no more than 20C in stainless steel vats for 10-12 days.
What is the Saignée Method? From the French word for “bleeding”, the saignée method is a by-product of making red wine where a small amount of juice is bled off early in fermentation. This helps increase concentration of the remaining juice in the same way you'd reduce a sauce to intensify flavours!
Rioja Baja is where it all began. Hacienda Marqués de la Concordia, an old sugar factory turned into a wine estate, is where the company keeps tradition alive while breaking new ground. They have experimental status in the vineyard, as it allows the producer to experiment with different grapes varieties. They allow some “international” grapes into their “creole” wines, which is what makes the wines innovative and exciting.
