2019 Ribeira Velha Douro Tinto

The Douro region faces challenges from climate change, particularly water scarcity. To combat this, vineyards employ cover cropping and bioinoculants to improve soil health and water retention.
The NOVATERRA project integrates to reduce pesticide use and enhance sustainability.
The vineyard combines hand-harvesting with modern soil and crop management strategies, ensuring high-quality grapes while preserving the environment.

2020 Calcada Duris Reserva
Regular price £14.89A rich and polished Portuguese red, crafted for lovers of bold flavour and finesse.
Tasting Notes.
Duris Reserva has an intense ruby color with violet hues. Aromas of red fruits, with floral and spicy nuances. In the mouth, it is a balanced wine with round tannins and a long and pleasant aftertaste.
Production
The grapes were harvested manually at the perfect point of maturation, from different plots and immediately processed in the cellar. After destemming and gentle crushing, the grapes were sent to stainless steel vats, where alcoholic fermentation took place. During this phase, gentle macerations are carried out at a controlled temperature. After fermentation, it aged in 225L French oak barrels for 9 months. Before bottling, the wine was slightly stabilized and filtered.

Tasting Notes.
Duris Selection has an intense ruby color with violet tones. Aromas of red black fruits, slight floral with balsamic. In the mouth, it is a wine with a good volume, lively acidity and round tannins, with a persistent finish.
Production
The grapes were harvested manually at the perfect point of maturation, from different plots and immediately processed in the cellar. After destemming and gentle crushing, the grapes were sent to stainless steel vats, where alcoholic fermentation took place. During this phase, gentle macerations are carried out at a controlled temperature.
Maturation
After fermentation, 30% of the blend aged in French and American oak for 6 months and the remaining 70% aged in stainless steel vats. Before bottling, the wine was slightly stabilized and filtered.
