Casa Vinicola Botter was founded in 1928 by Carlo Botter, a negociant selling to restaurants at the time and, is still a family run winery now in its third generation. During the 1950’s brothers Arnaldo and Enzo transformed the company, increasing its size and shifting to sales of their own bottles. Botter cooperates with the most qualified producers in Veneto, Apulia, Molise, Abruzzo and Sicily. A strong relationship that begins in the vineyards and goes through all the production cycles until the bottling. The focus is very much on innovation through environmentally friendly policies

2025 Santa Tresa Rina Russa Frappato Terre Siciliane IGP
Regular price £13.99 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%If Frappato is Vittoria’s signature grape, then Rina Russa di Santa Tresa perfectly captures its essence. “Rina Russa” means “red sand” in Sicilian dialect. Rina Russa features the black figures found on ancient Greek vases, a tribute to the meeting of peoples and cultures.
Tasting Notes
Rina Russa genuinely has its own unique style, as the Frappato grapes come from ancient clones developed on our own estate. It has a very beautiful light cherry colour, with a fresh and vibrant bouquet, reminiscent of wild strawberries and a beautifully balanced palate, with silky smooth fruit, a real freshness running through it and a surprisingly long finish.

Harvest
The grapes are carefully picked by hand towards the end of September and are carefully put into small containers of 15kg.
Vinification
The grapes are chilled overnight in a refrigerated room to lower the temperature to 6-8°C, in order to preserve the particular qualities of the Frappato. After a very gentle destemming and crushing the grapes are fermented at a temperature of about 18-22°C for 10-12 days. The wine is separated from the skins and malolactic fermentation is allowed to take place naturally.
Ageing
After the malolactic fermentation is completed, the wine is kept on its fine lees for about 4-6 months in stainless steel tanks, with regular stirring, before bottling.

A bright, bone‑dry Riesling that captures the fresh character of the Mittelhaardt
Tasting Notes
Aromas of citrus and stone fruit lead into a crisp, linear palate with crystal‑clear Riesling purity. Lively acidity drives an energetic flow, while subtle depth and minerality keep it engaging from first sip to finish. Clean, refreshing and unmistakably Von Buhl in its precision.

Production
Sourced from organically farmed vineyards in the Mittelhaardt, the grapes were harvested with high extract levels and fresh natural acidity — hallmarks of the 2024 vintage. Fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve purity and aromatics, the wine is crafted in a crisp, linear style that emphasises citrus, stone fruit and the region’s signature mineral clarity. Winemaker Simone Figerio focuses on precision and freshness, allowing the Riesling’s natural vibrancy to shine without oak influence.
Producer
Since its foundation in 1849, the Reichsrat von Buhl winery has stood for fine Rieslings from the best sites in the Mittelhaardt. Within a very short time, the name of Buhl developed into a promise of quality.
As early as 1869, a von Buhl Riesling was served for the opening of the Suez Canal – at that time one of the highest-priced wines in the world. We are committed to this legacy and so we continue to shape the story with heart and soul. Day after day.

Production
Producer
Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla is located in the historic centre of Jerez. Its story began with the aristocratic Andrada-Vanderwilde family, who for two centuries provided grapes and wine for the production of sherry in the area. In 1972 Fernando Andrada-Vanderwilde took over some old sherry cellars and brandy soleras from a couple of local bodegas, and changed the name of the company from Fernando III to Fernando de Castilla.
In 1999 Jan Pettersen, a Norwegian with 15 years experience at Osborne, bought the company and also acquired a neighbouring almacenista, José Bustamente. He also formed a partnership with a local grape grower – to ensure consistent supply of high quality grapes – unusual for the smaller bodegas, who usually have to rely on co-operatives. He decided to focus entirely on high-end, complex sherries - in the process upgrading the bodega to one of the most interesting and highly regarded of the small independent sherry houses in Jerez.
Whilst the company also produces Sherry Vinegar, and their own range of brandies, the Sherries produced here are amongst the finest in Jerez - from the pale, dry and elegant fino to the most unique antique wines.
There are two ranges: Classic, and the premium Antique range. It is the excellence of the Antique range of intensely pure and complex single solera Sherries that has largely driven Fernando de Castilla's reputation as masters in the production and ageing of fine, unblended, untreated Sherries (they do not fine, clarify or aggressively filter any of their wines).

2020 Fuentes Del Silencio Mataperezosa
Regular price £39.99 Sale price £29.99 Save 25%These expertly crafted, artisanal wines were borne out of a passion project to revive old vines in this corner of Spain, and have helped put Jamuz back on the wine-producing map.
Tasting Notes
"The 2020 vintage is more restrained and elegant, showing white flowers and hints of nectarine. On the palate, the broadness of Palomino comes in, giving a hint of honeycomb and peach, alongside pastry notes from oak influence. The acidity is very bright and vertical, bringing harmony to the finish." Lenka Sedlackova MW

Producer
Fuentes de Silencio was founded in 2013 on the banks of the Jamuz River, to the south of the province of León. The winery gets its name from the fact that this town had many water reserves and was called the town of fountains.' This passion project is led by oenologist Marta Ramas along with owners Miguel Angel Alonso and his wife Maria Jose Galera. With old pre-phylloxera vines yards, many of which are over 100 years of age they grow the native varieties of Mencía and Alicante Bouschet in very carefully dictated plots. They currently have 24 hectares of vineyards and plantings of Mencía, Alicante Bouschet, Prieto Picudo, Palomino, and Godello. Galician influence here is notable, characterised by the presence of sandy soils and Mencia at high altitudes (800m above sea level) and a continental climate.
Although wine has long been produced in Jamuz, it has done so quietly. This small team is working to bring the essence of the territory back to life and ensure that each of their small plots reaches their highest potential while implementing environmentally-friendly winemaking practices and placing importance on the use of traditional methods. Not only are they the team creating high-quality, exceptional wines of very limited production but they are adding new value to this tiny, relatively unknown region. Jamuz is back on the map.
Production
A blend of Palomino and Doña Blanca, from very old (some pre-phylloxera) vines. Fermentation takes place in a mix of Cocciopesto (a type of amphora) and Austrian oak. Whole bunches are pressed and vatted to settle in the night-time cold. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels where it remains for up to 12 months on its lees, with periodic batonnage.

2020 Solevari Reserve, Syrah, Romania
Regular price £13.99 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%Rich berries, supple tannins, beautifully balanced Romanian Syrah.
Tasting Notes
Purple red with violet reflections. Intense aromas of sour cherries, blueberries, black currants as well as floral aromas (violets). High in acidity, medium in body, the young and ripened tannins create a velvety wine with integrated alcohol and an intense ending.

Producer
Back in 1988, three families decided to invest in a winery in Romania, starting with 650 hectares of slightly unloved vineyards and a rusty, once state-owned winery.
Yet Englishman Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, have turned the Cramele Recas Estate into the most successful winery in Romania. Recas are now recognised globally for their impressive scale and breadth of fascinating wines, including natural and orange wine from organic grapes. Despite the scale the emphasis is on making good wines that over-deliver, and as a result they’ve struck on a magic formula that has seen sales and demand boom. Vineyards are a combination of evolved plantings from 1447 and more recent planting, whilst the winery has seen significant investment and boasts state of the art facilities where innovation thrives. Recas are in every way a modern, dynamic winery, whose open minded approach and quality sets them apart … a winery you really can’t ignore.
Production
Produced from grapes which are parrt of the yield control strategy adopted in the vineyard. Syrah vines have a tendancy to overcrop which can lead to thin wines if not controlled. To manage this, they remove a proportion of the grapes soon after flowering, before the vine has started to swell them into grapes. The emphasis then goes into fully ripening the remaining grapes to ensure a generous flavour and a deep colour.
A simple stainless steel fermentation to preserve the flavour and keep the wine open and fresh.

Production
The Shiraz for this wine is sourced from vines managed as part of a strict yield‑control strategy in the vineyard. As Shiraz naturally tends to over‑crop, unmanaged vines can produce thin, diluted wines. To prevent this, the team at Cramele Recaș removes a proportion of the developing grape clusters shortly after flowering, before the berries begin to swell. This early intervention focuses the vine’s energy on a smaller number of bunches. From that point onwards, vineyard work centres on achieving full, even ripeness, ensuring the remaining grapes develop generous flavour concentration and deep colour.
In the winery, the handling of Shiraz is intentionally straightforward, relying on simple, careful processes designed to preserve the natural character of the grapes. The aim is to maintain the variety’s inherent fruit expression and ensure the resulting wine remains open, approachable, and agreeable, without excessive manipulation or intervention

All the better for it – these wines are stunningly different and enthralling, with flavours on the palate that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Embodying their terroir and being resistant to change has made these wines special, delightful and truly regional.

Producer
Alejandro Sejanovich is arguably Argentina’s most knowledgeable viticulturist.
Having worked as vineyard director for Bodega Catena Zapata for 16 years, he pioneered high-altitude vineyard planting and conducted ground-breaking research into Mendoza’s Malbec clones. With Manos Negras, Alejandro combines his love of minerality and altitude with a magical touch in the winery to produce some of the region’s most terroir-driven wines. Not only altitude but also latitude play a part in the wines from Manos Negras all capturing the spirit of Manos Negras through a myriad of soil types and grape expressions.
Production Method
Sourced from the Altamira district in the southern Uco Valley at an elevation of 4,000 feet. Altamira is renowned for Mendoza’s most distinctive soil profile—a mosaic of sandy, silty, and stony soils interwoven within the same vineyard. The stony parcels are particularly striking, their round rocks coated in a white layer of calcium carbonate. These soils are notably low in organic matter yet rich in minerals, a combination that naturally limits yields and fosters exceptional concentration of aroma and flavour.
Gentle de stemming, cold maceration for 2 days and whole berry fermentation with natural yeasts at a maximum temperature of 22° C. There is extensive punching down for the first 7 days of the 12 day fermentation.

Thanks to the beautiful maturities of the grapes and the careful winemaking, from mother to daugther, the wines are fresh and fruity
Alan's Personal Tasting Notes
"Not our cheapest Picpoul undoubtedly our best value. Unctuous citric and stone fruits are punctuated by a zingy acidity. But it’s the depth, length & complexity that astounds me. The flavour just sits there forever. Delicious with or without food. Don’t think it will be cheap but this is the best Picpoul I have ever tasted in my 45 years working in wine" August 2026

The structure and complexity in these smaller berries bring intense colour, added body and bold flavours.
Alan's Personal Tasting Note
"This is the 2nd of the saltwind range that I’ve tasted, the 2025 Merlot, and it’s stunning! Medium, not FULL bodied, with very attractive damson & blackberry fruit, and the tiniest hint of spice in the back palate. But, like the Chenin, it’s the purity and freshness of fruit that is most amazing to me. You don’t generally get that freshness from South African fruit, it’s usually a lot fuller, jammy and richer than this fresh, smooth mouthful. Not a blockbuster, just an incredibly delicate, fruity wine that , in my opinion, must have been made by one of the new breed of SA female winemakers. A man couldn’t get this delicacy, beauty and softness from SA grapes, and a million miles away from the big, punchy styles of SA red we’ve seen over the last 20 years." JUNE 2026

2023 Henners Gardner Street Classic Bacchus Chardonnay
Regular price £10.99 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%Gardner Street is the historic name of Henners’ home village of Herstmonceux. The old name captures the hand-harvested, artisanal craft of tending vines & wines down English country lanes. A modern marriage of fresh, floral Bacchus with a little barrel-fermented Chardonnay.
Tasting Notes

Producer
When it comes to English wine there’s a lot to shout about, not least the stunning sparkling wines from Henners. Based just 4 miles from the sea in Herstmonceux, East Sussex, the 7 acre vineyard was created in 2007 by ex-Formula One engineer, Lawrence Warr. The winery was named in honour of Larry's French ancestor, Henners Dubois, who was forced to flee Paris for England during the French Revolution in the in the late 18th Century.
Boutinot was the sole distributor of Henners from this time and developed strong ties with the winery and its wines… so when the opportunity arose 10 years later to buy the estate, they jumped at the chance. Planted with traditional Champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the vines thrive in an idyllic microclimate created by the vineyard’s proximity to the sea, low altitude (only 24 metres above sea level) and steep, sunny, south facing slopes.
All Henners wines are hand-crafted from start to finish; with separate fermenting of varietals and their vine clones to allow a broader range of wines for final blending; extended lees ageing for added complexity; and holding back of all bottles for at least 3 years prior to release to add depth and richness to every wine.

Production Method
Sourced from vineyard partners in Essex and Kent we harvested the vineyard parcels separately and fermented as small lots to allow the expression of their respective sites to shine through. 30% of the blend was fermented in neutral 300L French oak barrels and allowed to go through malolactic fermentation, while the remaining parcels were fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel and did not go through malolactic fermentation.
A Note on Sustainability
Henners estate is a founder member of Sustainable Wines of Great Britain (SWGB), an initiative established in 2020 with an aim to ensure sustainability is at the heart of the English and Welsh wine industry. In 2025 Henners received SWGB’s Gold Trademark, for working to enhance the sustainability of the winery and winemaking practices, minimising the volume of water used per bottle of wine and disposing of the winery wastewater responsibly and reducing their carbon footprint per bottle of wine. This is an endorsement to Henners’ commitment to winemaking and winery management that have minimal environmental impact, as well as the ongoing promotion of biodiversity in the vineyards and protection of soils. This is no easy task to attain, requiring annual review for accreditation and ongoing improvement in methodology.

2022 Pyren Vineyard Little RaRa Roopa, Pyrenees (Orange Wine)
Regular price £11.99 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%Vibrantly-labelled skinsy combo of Sauvignon Blanc and a blob of Pinot Grigio, this is hazy, natty fun but deliciously drinkable and clean.
Tasting Notes
A wonderfully perfumed orange wine, awash with jasmine, candied mandarin peel and sea spray. The palate transcends fruit and herbal components, with a lime cordial freshness, incorporating subtle spiced oak across a well textured tannin profile.

Producer
Brothers Brian and Kevyn Joy planted Pyren Vineyard in 1999, surrounded by state forest and farmland. Basking in the sunshine of the glorious Warrenmang valley in the Victorian Pyrenees the vineyard is now under the expert care of Brian’s son, winemaker Leighton Joy alongside viticulturist Graeme Miles. The vines, approaching 25 years in the ground, are producing better fruit than ever before, through a combination of maturity and evolving best practise in the vineyard and winery. The use of organic farming methods (though uncertified) and minimal intervention winemaking techniques underscores their dedication to preserving the natural integrity of the wines. The surrounding mountains play their part and Pyren is planted in an east-west orientation, providing invaluable shade to both fruit and the ground in the warmest part of the day. In winemaking terms, there is a staunch commitment to spontaneous, wild yeast fermentation. Subsequently, pressed wines are encouraged to talk, to generate character, and to evolve in the cellar.
According to Leighton “The intention is to meld the expression of high-quality fruit with integrity and artistic freedom, and the endeavour to fine tune the best style for the fruit is a continuous one”. This philosophy has led to the creation of several unique wine ranges The Earthscape range seeks to express single grape varieties grown on quartz soils, in terroir-driven ways, while their “Little Ra Ra” wines have allowed Leighton to develop a more playful expressions of the Pyrenees. They also produce a Reserve, of their best fruit, traditionally crafted, and designed for aging. All in all Pyren are an ideal blend of innovative spirit and traditional reverence.
Production
Estate grown Sauvignon Blanc, farmed organically and hand harvested. 100% whole bunch carbonic fermentation is undertaken for a duration of 13 to 16 days, after which the wine is transferred to 500L French oak and Acacia barrels and left on lees or 3-4 months.
Sustainability
Composting and under vine mulch underpin an organic approach in the vineyard, where synthetic fertiliser and herbicide has long been abandoned. Although not certified organic yet the vines are organically farmed. The focus at Pyren is on soil health and biological diversity. Water use is managed thoughtfully as the property relies on its own catchment.

2015 La Dame de Montrose Saint-Estephe
Regular price £69.99 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%The 2015 La Dame de Montrose produced by the prestigious Château Montrose, represents the second wine of this renowned estate situated the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux.
Tasting Notes
An intense deep red colour, the second selection of Château Montrose is marked by the terroir: a powerful and expressive nose with complex aromas of black fruit, fine oak, toasty and smoky. The attack on the palate is rich and full. The mid palate, round and completely in harmony, reveals supple and silky tannins. Good length, with aromas of very ripe fruit on the finish.

Production
2015 started with a colder winter than in previous years. The start of the season, mild and quite sunny, favoured early bud burst. Quick and uniform flowering took place at the start of June thanks to the exceptional climatic conditions. June and July were dry, marked by water stress leading to a clear slow-down in the development of the vine. Véraison took place early and in a very uniform way between 21 July and 10 August. The showers in September gave us the measure, once again, of the qualities of our terroir: drainage was perfect, and the Cabernet Sauvignon on the plateau bordering the estuary
benefited from a very beneficial drying wind. Harvest started from15 September with an increased team of pickers and continued at a sustained pace until 8 October when picking finished. The grapes were of very good quality, and we further strengthened our ultra-precise plot selection, which sometimes involved several passes through a plot in the search for optimum
ripeness. In the cellar, the reception line allowed for precision work: 3 sorting tables for bunches preceded double sorting of the berries, optical then by hand. The vinification, respectful of the identity of our terroir, was tailor-made in tanks of sizes adapted to each of the 55 batches that make up our blending palette. To these were added 7 batches resulting from the precision work carried out at the press. At the time of blending, the richness of the batches allowed us to be extremely precise in the selection for the grand vin, the most drastic in 15 years. The first tastings put this vintage among the great years of Château Montrose.
Producer
The producer of the 2015 La Dame de Montrose Saint-Estèphe is Château Montrose, a prestigious Second Growth estate located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux. La Dame de Montrose is the château’s second wine, crafted with the same care and terroir expression as the Grand Vin but designed to be more approachable in its youth.
Château Montrose has a long-standing reputation for producing structured, age-worthy wines and is currently owned by the Bouygues family, who have invested significantly in sustainability and precision winemaking.

2012 Château Couhins-Lurton Grand Vin De Graves
Regular price £57.99 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%The special clay-gravel terroir of Château Couhins-Lurton has given birth to a great left bank Merlot: it stands out in the appellation for its extreme finesse and intensity of fruit on the finish. Its nobility and ageing potential are a credit to its rank.
Tasting Notes
Colour
Intense, black-rimmed with violet.
Nose
The nose is dominated by the fruit: the ripe black cherry and blackberry aromas are intense but delicately highlighted by mild tobacco and lightly roasted notes. Very skillful barrel aging allows the oak to blend perfectly as a counterpoint to the fruit.
Palate
Very smooth, appears fat and soft… The tannins are ripe, melting and remarkably dense. Often described as jammy, but there are also spices and mild tobacco in the mix. The finish is long and lingering, with fruit that coats the palate.

Production
Fermentation in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats and aged for 12 months in oak barrels (40% new) with racking.
Vintage
While January and February were colder than average, 2009 was nevertheless a warm year (one of the warmest in a century). There was a great deal of sunshine and a remarkable drought during the summer months.
Review & Awards
- JancisRobinson.com 17.5/20
"Really very subtle on the nose with some development at the rim and it has been judged just right - both texture and flavour are great. Better than many a grand cru. So much pleasure and balance. Opulent but not sweet or fat or raisined. Drink 2016-2028."
- The Wine Spectator 94/100
"Loads of crushed sweet berries on the nose, with fresh herbs and licorice. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, polished and soft texture on the end. And plenty of fruit. So pretty. Really impressive red from here." (James Suckling)
