Vineyards

Negroamaro is the most typical grape variety of Salento on the southernmost part of Apulia region and has drawn great interest thanks to the character of its wines. Rivera’s modern winemaking results a fresh and balanced red wine with bright aromas of dark berries and long aftertaste.

Berries grow on lime-clay soils plots located on the Salento Peninsula. The height of the vineyards above sea level is 50-80 meters. Harvested by hand and by machine in the second week of September. Maceration in steel tanks, during which the wort is often stirred, lasts 7-8 days at a temperature of 25 ° C. Wine is aged in cement vats lined with glass from the inside for 9 months.

Alan's Personal Tasting Notes

"Such a quaffer - ripe and soft bramble fruit with a linear hidden acidity on the back palate which keeps it fresh and you asking for more. Not particularly complex but a delightful soft, quality easy drinking red that delivers and drinks perfectly on its own but will stand up to simple comfort food." July 2023
