Pocket Negroni Crackers
Regular price £9.50 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%The perfect Secret Santa Gift! | Grab a cracker containing 2 x 100ml premixed pocket-sized cute-as-a-button (AND delicious!) Negronis
This bittersweet Italian classic is made of one part Porter's Gin, one part sweet vermouth and one part bitter aperitif.
Best served ice cold, either straight from the can, or served in a rocks glass over quality ice with an orange peel garnish.
This negroni stays true to the classic recipe, proportioned precisely to be exactly one serve, including the dilution that you would get if you were in a proper cocktail bar.
The Negroni is said to have been invented by the Count Camillo Negroni in 1919. While at Bar Casoni in Florence, he demanded that the bartender strengthen his favourite cocktail, the Americano, by replacing the usual soda water with gin. As bitter as it is sweet, it is a classic stirred-down sipping drink, perfect both as an aperitif or digestif.

The Lost Mexican Gift Pack

The set includes 5cl Blanco Agave, 5cl Cafe Agave, 5cl Reposado:
Loved by presidents, leaders, and captains of industry, and now sitting as the pinnacle in the Lost Mexican range. The Reposado is a fitting epitaph to the life’s work of one of the early Cornish miners to venture to Mexico.
By 1870, Stanley Kiernan, the son of a Penzance distiller, was the last of a ragtag bunch of miners who had set sail from Cornwall and made their home in Central Mexico. He had spent decades playing with local flavours to create the world’s first range of Cornish-made Mezcal.
Now an old man and as much a Mexican as he ever was a Cornishman, he would take a bottle of his best Reposado up to the Panteón Inglés, where his compatriots lay.
With a wry smile on his weathered face as the memories of their exploits stirred in his mind, he would sit among their tombstones, all facing towards Kernow, and raise a glass to his old friends and their transatlantic adventures.
By 1846, Cornish miners had been working in the silver mines of Mexico for twenty years. Knit-frocks and flat caps had been replaced with ponchos and sombreros, whilst sea shanties rang out from the tavernas each evening.
Penzance-born distiller Stanley Kiernan was now famous for his succulent alchemy. His most celebrated concoction, locally known as El Café Del Monte, used agave with vanilla and coffee beans.
Each day, a pasty now spiced with chilli and a ration of El Café was sent down the mineshaft to be met with cries of ¡Yeghes Da Amigos!
In early 1825, Stanley Kiernan, the son of a Penzance distiller, set sail from Falmouth with around 60 of his fellow Cornishmen and 1500 tons of mining machinery. They arrived in Mineral del Monte, Mexico, in May 1826, where they immediately set to work resurrecting the region’s derelict silver mines.
Before too long, the mines were up and running, the pasty was the new staple in town, and Stanley fashions a basic still out of damaged mining equipment. With the help of the locals and their succulent botanicals, he starts to experiment, and on that windswept hill in central Mexico, the world’s first Cornish-made mezcal is born – a recipe lost in time until now…

2009 Grangehurst Nikela Magnum Gift Pack
Regular price £49.99 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%Dark ruby/garnet colour
Red berries with some mint, cedar and mocha aromas & flavours.
A full-bodied, elegant barrel-matured red wine with smooth, ripe tannins.
Jeremy Walker founded Grangehurst in 1992, when he converted his fathers’ squash court into a makeshift wine production cellar. He used the ‘squash court cellar’ to make his first 6 vintages, only moving out after the 1998 vintage.
Jeremy was invited to join the prestigious Cape Winemakers Guild in 1996 and was one of the longest standing members when, in order to let a young winemaker take his place in the sun, he elected to step down in 2021.
The word “Nikela” (pronounced “Ni-care-la”) is a Nguni (Xhosa/Zulu) word meaning “to offer a gift of dedication, respect or a tribute to one’s ancestors” – this wine being a tribute to winemaker Jeremy Walker’s late parents, Eddie and Betty, who contributed greatly to the establishment of Grangehurst, which was named after their childhood homes – “The Grange” and “Hurst Close” – in England.
Selected from prime Helderberg and Simonsberg vineyards in Stellenbosch. The southerly summer sea-breezes that blow over the cool waters of False Bay contribute greatly to the quality of the grapes from these vineyards – especially those in the Helderberg.
After destalking and crushing the grapes, the mash was fermented in open tanks for between 5 and 14 days on the skins. The cap of skins was punched down and mixed with the juice 4 to 6 times per day to ensure optimum extraction of colour, tannin and flavours. After completion of the alcoholic fermentation, the free-run wine was drawn off and the skins were gently pressed in basket presses. The press wine was blended with the free-run wine in stainless steel tanks before being transferred to small oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation occurred in tanks and barrels.
This wine was clarified according to the natural settling and racking method, which does not involve the use of any fining agents, centrifuges or filters – a natural, unhurried method of clarifying wine.
The various component wines – Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Shiraz, Merlot and Mourvèdre – were matured in 225-litre French oak barrels for 29 months.
Bottled at Grangehurst using a gentle gravity flow filling system. The wine flowed from the elevated bottling tanks through a cartridge filter to the hand filler and into the bottles. This was the only stage during the entire winemaking process that the wine was filtered.

2019 De Toren Fusion V Magnum Gift Box
Regular price £99.00 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%On the nose, a bouquet of ripe sweet red cherries, blueberries, sweet spice, and subtle nuances of oak prevail, accentuating the fruit. Seamlessly integrated and immensely elegant.
The taste profile of Fusion V 2019 is vibrant and moderately full-bodied. Fine-grained, yet polished tannins are present in this wine. The red cherry bouquet is unmistakable, leaving the 2019 vintage creamy, layered, and delightfully well-balanced for its age.
De Toren proprietors Emil and Sonette den Dulk left Johannesburg in 1991 to establish their vineyards in the Polkadraai Hills of Stellenbosch. Situated on southern-facing slopes overlooking False Bay De Toren enjoys the cooling effect of constant ocean breezes. Taking a holistic approach to keeping vineyard soils healthy and balanced viticulturalist Ernest Manuel employs sustainable farming practices throughout the property. Infrared Aerial Imaging is used extensively in order to monitor ripeness in various vineyard blocks and determine optimal picking times although actual harvesting and production are done almost entirely by hand. The winery is operated on gravity flow principles; a 4000 liter pressure tank in an elevator shaft (the Tower from which the winery takes its name) is cleverly used to exploit gravity in transporting wine between tanks and barrels without the use of mechanical pumps. As a result of De Toren’s innovative minimal intervention production methods their wines were among the first South African bottlings to qualify for IP (Integrated Production) certification by the Wine and Spirit Board.
The Den Dulks and winemaker Albie Koch seem to have found the key to success with their simple winemaking philosophy: gentle handling no pumps and minimum manipulation. Armed with this winning formula the boutique farm has quickly risen to the ranks of South Africa’s winemaking elite with their duo of dazzling stylish and complex five-varietal Bordeaux blends: the flagship Fusion V (which debuted in the 1999 vintage and has been hailed by Wine Spectator as a consistently polished outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend) and the Merlot-based Z introduced with the 2004 vintage.
Aged in a climatized barrel/ maturation room (16 degrees Celsius at 80% humidity) for 12 months in approximately 50% new and 50% second fill, 225 Litre Oak barrels. French Oak is predominantly used during maturation, with a portion of the Malbec receiving the benefit of American Oak.

The Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot blend has been part of the Grangehurst range since our maiden vintage in 1992. As a young wine, still in barrel, the 1992 vintage was adjudged the SA Champion Wine. The 1993 vintage was Wine Magazine’s first 5-star red wine and the 1995 was a Platter 5- star wine. Other vintages of this wine have also been highly regarded, and Grangehurst Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is a fine quality Bordeaux-style wine with a good track record.

A BOTTLE DESIGNED TO KEEP ON GIVING
Our new bottle is 30% lighter by design. This helps to reduce the energy used in production, shipping and recycling. And, the short neck and unique wide opening are more than just visually striking. In this remarkable collection, you'll discover a harmonious blend of Spanish wine culture, with 2 enchanting white wines, 2 bold reds, a captivating Sherry, and the sparkling elegance of a Cava. Each bottle is a testament to the passionate craftsmanship and time-honored techniques that have made Spanish wines world-renowned.
2022 Pazo de Monterray Godello - Aromatic & sophisticated - perfect for salmon, seafood, chicken and crisp salads. Very fresh acidity & mineral notes balance the rich, ripe fruit characters of apple and pear on the palate. A touch of white spice and good length with a lightly bitter twist at the finish. RRP 12.99
2020/1 Menade Organic Verdejo - Delivering loads of flavour for an organic offer. Incredibly fresh, good peach fruit flavours, lively acidity and fine layers of texture with an underlying minerality. And Histamine free - so good for allergy sufferers as well! First time I’ve seen that on a label! Does that mean no headaches? RRP £12.99
2017 Cosme Palacio Crianza - A fantastic Rioja with a touch of bling about it. Roberto Rodriguez calls this a ‘super-Crianza’, because he shepherds it from vineyard to bottle as if it were a Reserva, hand-picking the most flavour-intensive berries from high altitude vineyards, lavishing upon them the finest, new French oak barrels that money can buy and treating the wine to a long élevage. RRP £18.25
2015 Marqués de Griñon Svmma Varietalis - SVMMA is a Latin word used to indicate that the epitome of knowledge has been reached. Deep ruby-red in color with purple reflections, this wine shows rich notes of dark berries, clove, smoke and pepper. On the palate, layers of mineral and fruit notes are interwoven, accompanied by soft tannins, silky texture and excellent concentration. RRP £20.00
2017 MM Selección Especial Rosé Cava - Crisp on the palate with ripe wild strawberry fruit flavours, a fine and creamy mouthfeel, and a delicate, refreshing finish. Marqués de la Concordia MM Seleccion Especial Brut Rosé pairs beautifully with canapés and desserts or can be enjoyed as an aperitif. RRP £8.80.
Lustau East India Solera Sherry (500ml) - 90 points from Wine Enthusiast and Decanter and a Gold Mundus Vini Award too! This wine is a perfect companion to light desserts and cakes, but can also be served with creamy cheeses or foie gras. Try it also on the rocks with a slice of orange, simply delicious. Serve slightly chilled, between 10 – 12ºC. RRP £16.71

Excellence in every bottle! This contains their oldest reserve wine. Aged in bottle for the longest of any Exton Reserve Blends. With savoury notes of brioche & baked apple, with a mineral freshness.
This fresh, elegant and versatile wine makes an ideal accompaniment to sweet and savoury dishes. Its delicate citrus notes pair perfectly with smoked trout, white meats or even a light Victoria sponge cake. RRP £35.00
An understated wine with length and mouth-wateringly succulent. Aromas of white peach and melon, along with the more traditional nuances of citrus and tropical. There is also an intriguing 'funk' and lanolin note that brings all the aromas together and provides a wonderful transition through to the palate.
Organic Vegan and Vegetarian approved, and pairs perfectly with soft white cheese, such as goats cheese. RRP £16.99
This is a fresh, bright and charming expression of a Loire Pinot Noir. Warm, red berry fruit, with ripe tannins balanced by fresh acidity and subtle oak on the finish. Their vineyards, are worked sustainably, organically where possible; crop cover on rows to help combat erosion, soil work and green harvesting to restrain yields and improve ripeness. In the winery, intervention is minimal, no pumping and long lees aging. The wine style is very pure, fruit-forward yet fine and really top quality.
Vegan and Vegetarian approved. Would work deliciously well with a well-ripened Brie or Camembert and french baguette straight from the oven! £19.95
Treat yourself, or someone special this Christmas to our Supreme Selection.

Doña Paula Altitude Series Gift Pack
Regular price £50.00 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%Altitude Series contains some of the most recognizable labels from the Doña Paula winery. Its three members are blends that seek to reflect the expression of the different farms, and in particular the different dreams and altitudes at which the vines are planted. But at the same time, the common thread that sustains the line - and the winery - is clear: freshness.
The line begins with 2021 Doña Paula Altitude Series 969 : its yellow line logo represents the clay soil of Finca El Alto, located 969 meters above sea level in Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo (Mendoza). It is a cut of Petit Verdot (55%), Bonarda (40%) and Malbec (5%) with an intense violet colour. On the nose, Petit Verdot brings aromas of blueberries and jasmine while Bonarda adds intense aromas of blackberries and raspberries. It stands out for its firm tannins and good volume in the mouth, Malbec offers an attractive structure and a long finish.
The 2019 Doña Paula Altitude Series 1350, with a greyish-white logo, comes from the stony and calcareous soils of Finca Alluvia, Gualtallary, Valle de Uco (Mednoza). It is a blend of Cabernet Franc (50%), Malbec (45%) and Casavecchia (5%) with an intense violet color. Cabernet Franc provides spicy and floral notes, while Malbec provides berries notes. It presents a good length and it is very persistent due to its tannins. It is an elegant blend with a great structure.
Finally, 2019 Doña Paula Altitude Series 1100, the one with the red logo, comes from pink caliche soils from Finca Los Indios located in El Cepillo, San Carlos. Uco Valley (Mendoza). It combines Malbec (60%), Syrah (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) blended to create this complex and balanced wine of a deep violet color. In the nose, it has floral aromas – such as violet and rosehip – typical of the Malbec variety. The Syrah contributes spicy notes, good volume in the mouth and silky tannins, whereas the Cabernet Sauvignon complements the blend with a great structure.

2017 Champagne Gremillet Brut Vintage (Gift Pack)
Regular price £44.95 Save Liquid error (snippets/product-template line 117): Computation results in '-Infinity'%Approachable yet very proper vintage Champagne - perfectly expressing the very particular character of Pinot Noir from the Aube.
Fine persistent 'bulles', lovely nose - a mix of ripe Pinot fruit and classic baked biscuit, the palate has Gremillet's characteristic gentle, ripe fruit, some nice complexity balanced with a long fresh finish.
Vines are mainly planted in the Côte des Bars on limestone-clay soil on steep, sun-drenched hillsides. The first-press juice is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats (16° for the alcoholic and 18° for the malolactic) followed by secondary fermentation in bottle. The wine is then matured on lees for a minimum of 5 years, and disgorged with a 9g/l 'liquer de dosage' made from their own finished wine.
The Gremillet estate was founded by Jean-Michel Gremillet in 1979 when he inherited a plot of vines from his mother, Lulu. Today, the house possesses over 40 hectares of vineyards and is situated in a small village 45 kilometres from Troyes - the historic capital of Champagne - and 180 kilometres south of Reims. The vines lie on steep, sun-drenched hillsides in Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils. Pinot Noir is king here, and constitutes around 94% of Gremillet’s plantings, with the remainder dedicated to Chardonnay, ideal for creating a classic, baked biscuit, rich, fruit-flavoured Champagne.
This family-owned and run Champagne house is HVE 3 certified, and as much as possible it restricts its use of chemicals in the vineyards. One of its cuvées is certified organic by ECOCERT and hopefully, this is the start of a bigger process.
